What will I get if I subscribe to this Certificate?
You do not have to take those courses again, and will be able to finish the Professional Certificate more quickly. You will only need to complete the courses that you have not yet completed. To share proof of completion with schools, certificate graduates will receive an email prompting them to claim their Credly badge, which contains the ACE ® ️ or ECTS credit recommendation. Once claimed, they will receive a competency-based transcript that signifies the credit recommendation, which can be shared directly with a school from the Credly platform. Please note that the decision to accept specific credit recommendations is up to each institution and is not guaranteed.
There’s no requirement for what kind of degree you need to have to become a project manager. Google has also funded 5,000 scholarships for Google Career Certificates, which will be distributed by Google.org grantee NPower Canada. Industry certification
This course is the first in a series of six to equip you with the skills you need to apply to introductory-level roles in project management. Project managers play a key role in leading, planning and implementing critical projects to help their organizations succeed. In this course, you’ll discover foundational project management terminology and gain a deeper understanding of the role and responsibilities of a project manager. We’ll also introduce you to the kinds of jobs you might pursue after completing this program. Throughout the program, you’ll learn from current Google project managers, who can provide you with a multi-dimensional educational experience that will help you build your skills for on-the-job application.
Since 2021, NPower Canada has guided scholarship recipients through the program, providing ongoing wraparound support and the skills needed to be job-ready upon completion. The Project Manager Professional Certificate provides comprehensive instruction on being a project manager in today’s world. If you are interested in becoming a project manager in any industry, this program can provide a solid foundation. Some of the typical responsibilities of a project manager are to define project goals, develop a project plan, manage resources and risks, monitor progress, communicate with stakeholders, and ensure quality. When you enroll in the course, you get access to all of the courses in the Certificate, and you earn a certificate when you complete the work.
You’ll learn these job-ready skills in our certificate program through interactive content (discussion prompts, quizzes, and hands-on activities) in under six months, with 5-10 hours of study a week. Along the way, you’ll work through a curriculum designed with input from top employers and industry leaders, like the Project Management Institute (PMI) and Scrum.org. In addition to setting the plan and guiding teammates through the project, they are tasked with managing changes and risks. Each day is dynamic and different for a project manager because they are at the center of the project — building relationships, prioritising tasks, and delivering results! Using various tools and templates, as well as a unique skill set, the project manager brings order to chaos.
If learning part-time (e.g. 1 module per week), it would take 5 to 11 months to complete the entire certificate. If learning full-time (e.g. 1 module per day) the certificate can be completed in 2 to 3 months. Towards the end of the program are two final courses designed to bring everything together to test your practical skills in project management. A capstone course will test your practical skills and help you build a portfolio of skills and projects you can share in future interviews.
Project Planning & Control™
The APM Project Risk Management Single Subject Certificate is a qualification which has two levels. It’s designed to build on the knowledge gained in the APM Project Management Qualification or similar project management qualifications. Additionally, learners will have the option to use Asana and to learn about other common work management tools. Finding a location, delegating who should bring what, collecting and tracking payments, coordinating your arrival, and ensuring everyone enjoys the trip are all project management tasks. Project management is valuable to businesses because it helps ensure that a project delivers the expected outcomes — both on time and within budget.
